Deciem | The Abnormal Beauty Company Haul

Monday 9 September 2019 Banbury, UK

Lately I went a bit skincare shopping crazy and one of the brand I definitely wanted to get my hand on again was The Ordinary skincare. I used, 2 years ago, the Natural Moisturising Factors + HA which was a lovely moisturiser but this time I was looking for something else to try.
So I purchased the Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate 10% Hydrator along with the 100% Plant-Derived Squalane Serum and, for the first time, I decided to try one of their product from the make up range: The Serum Foundation in 2.0 Light Medium.
If you do not know The Ordinary (clearly where have you been?) this brand was launch in UK in 2017 and was the talk of the town for many months! Since then they launched couple of shops around London and lately The Ordinary can also be purchased through Boots website
The brand idea is to strip back to basics. All formulation are pure, packaging are kept simple, to keep the cost down, along with little marketing. The description of each products can be a bit confusing, if you are not Caroline Hirons, so always make sure to read detailed given on the website or ask assistance if you are in one of the 4 shops in London (their staff are highly knowledgeable by the way) but apart from that it is easy to see that the concentration of this gorgeous brand is to give you really what you paid for, no blablabla, no expensive marketing behind the brand or expensive packaging etc. just a product that your skin need. Its simple and I like that a lot.
First Impression
The Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate 10% Hydrator was probably the product I was excited the most. Lately my skin have been very dry and I really needed to go back on the hydrating wagon and this hydrator was promising a lot. Packed with vitamin C, which we all know its an effective antioxidant and reduce signs of ageing ( I am in my early 40's after all) , it is also alcohol and silicone free along with a mild PH. So very kind for your skin. This product seems to be the perfect partner for my new skincare hydration regime!
This hydrating cream goes along way, you only need a small amount to apply, the texture is very creamy and the effect is immediate with the feeling of a well hydrated skin without feeling greasy or silicony. Winner all the way for me so far!!

Next is the Serum Foundation in colour shade No 2.0N. I was looking for a light coverage kind of foundation since my skin don't do so well lately (but I am working on it!!) with high coverage foundation due to my dehydrated skin. This foundation was ticking all the boxes. So far I tried it few times and in all honestly its a delight to use. As the name suggest it is very serum like, lightweight and easy to apply. The result was very unified, natural and definitely cover blemishes, spots etc. without the sensation that a heavier foundation might have. Honestly it is a lovely foundation that I would be happy to purchase again. There is also the more dewy version of this serum which was out of stock at the time of my purchase but I am definitely going to try the dewy version in the near future. So overall a lovely lightweight foundation that give you a very natural look. This range offer a wide spectrum of shades (21 in total) from very fair to very dark so whatever your skin colour is, you are sure to find something to suit you.

Last but not least the 100% Plant-Derived Squalane Serum. Since I finished my Pure Vitamin C serum by Klairs have been looking for something to replace it. I can no longer live without using a serum so I had to have my hand on one.
The 100% Plant Derived Serum is perfect for a boost of hydration and, as you know by now, this is what I am after for the upcoming colder months:  hydration, hydration and more hydration. Squalane is a saturated and stable hydrocarbon that is found naturally in the skin so with that it s an exceptional hydrator. Just so you know Squalane is a non-comedogenic which mean is it suitable for all type of skin !!! And do you know that it can also be applied to hair for heat protection and shine! I mean this is definitely versatile. So what are you waiting for?
As serum does this one is lightweight it has a silky smooth feeling and most importantly my skin feel plumper and hydrating after use as promise by the brand happy me all the way !

Of course I only used this serum for a couple of days but if you wish to have a fuller review of this product or on the Serum Foundation or The Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate 10%  Day Hydrator then leave me a comment below.

  4. I didn´t get on with the Serum Foundation at all, it was way too shiny on me and only lasted about two hours before disappearing completely.
