#BloggersXmas 2016

When I received an invitation last month for this years #BloggersXmas event organised by the two talented sisters from Soeurs De Luxe I could not hide my anticipation, the reason being that I heard about the one they organised last year and so many great things about it. So being on the invitation list for this year was truly amazing. The event was held at the Finch's Pub a stone's throw away from Liverpool Street, a lovely quirky little place that I didn't know about and that I actually would love to go back for brunch in the near future. As soon as I arrived I got my Press Pass for the afternoon and already I was amused and very pleased to see a mountain of sweets welcoming us where we could help ourselves to as much as we wanted. You know me and my priority's: sweets first then brands. Once my bag of sweets was filled to the top. I decided to do a quick tour around and then select the brands that I am more likely to be interested by.

Autumn Greys | Outfit

This is my second outfit post, after all the lovely and supporting comments I had on my 1st one, few weeks ago, which you can find here, I felt much more confident to do an other one and I think I'll probably do one every now and then .Whenever I feel like it and of course when I have new outfits to show you. Two Sundays ago it was a very sunny morning in London but yet rather cold my photographer (alias boyfriend) and myself went back to Crystal Palace park in London which is minutes away from our flat to do an other outfit session.

Authentic Taste of India Banquet | Event

You know me, if I get an invitation to try an Indian menu created by a renowned Indian Chef it is most unlikely that I would refuse, I love food and I love even more Indian foods.
The event was held at Jenius Social in London and organised by ASDA, which as you may know by now, I team up quite regularly with them. At my arrival I was delighted to find a room amazingly well decorated for the event with enough light up tea lights to satisfied any lifestyle bloggers out there and also with beautiful vibrant fabric, flowers and colourful Indian inspired ornaments all over the room, event before the dinner start I was already in India.

After few glass of non-alcoholic cocktails (as an expecting mother no prossecco for me that night unfortunately) chatting away and watching an Indian artist making hen tatto an my fellow bloggers hands we were all ready to sit down and taste an exciting Indian menu. Chef Rehan Ahmed introduced himself and each dish and we started the round of delicious dishes which were:
Keralan Prawn Curry, vegetable Bhalti, Lamb Bhuna & Chiken Tikka Masala all served with a variety of dips, Bombay potatoes and naan breads. To finish all we were served two desserts: Mango Lassi which is like a cool mango sorbet to cool our taste buds and Kheer which is a traditional rice pudding made from coconut milk & flavoured with cardamon, raisins, saffron, cashews & pistachio topped with a gold leaf. Let me tell you this dessert finish that meal beautifully and \i could have easily got for second.
My two favourites , excluding mouth watering desserts, were the Keralan Prawn curry, an Traditional South Indian dish made with Juicy king prawns smothered in a creamy sauce, made of cumin, coriander, creamy coconut milk, Indian mustard & curry leave. It was mild , succulent , tasty and so creamy.
My second favourite was the Lamb Bhuna, this delicious dish was brought to life with an infusion of selected herbs & spices, including cloves, fennel which give to this dish an authentic taste of Indian. This dish had a little bit more of a bite but the succulent lamb just was the perfect match to all the spices.

After a round of succulents dishes, were finally introduced to actually from were all those dishes come from, and they were to all our surprise form the new range of Asda's new authentic Indian Meals. Carefully selected and developed to incorporate the flavours & textures of quality Indian dishes and can simply be enjoyed at home. Not at any point during that evening I guessed where those dishes came from but I can ensure you that it was a lovely discovery.

MAC Aids Charity Event With Anna & Lily Pebbles

Being a follower of The Anna Edit & Lily Pebbles on social media I heard they were doing a little last minute meetup this week at the MAC in Carnaby Street, London for the charity #MACaids, you know I couldn't miss the opportunity to say hello to Anna & Lily again (See my meetup with them last month here), try on some MAC lippy and most of all donate for #MACaids charity.
The MAC Aids Fund's mission is to help people form all ages, backgrounds & gender affected by HIV & AIDS. Their mission is to help mostly in countries were affected people are more at risk to be neglected. Being a beautiful charity to support and also this being the time of year where we all need to give more support to those in need I went down after a hard day at work and all warm up in my giant scarf to the M.A.C. store at Carnaby Street just near Liberty in SOHO.

Kew Gardens | London

When in London there is definitely a place that cannot be missed for a long stroll with family or friends. It is luxurious, decadent, beautiful, educational  and most importantly it reminds you the beauty of nature. This place is Kew Gardens. Funnily enough 18 years ago when I first moved to London this was one of the 1st places I visited with a bunch of friends and I always remember how beautiful and grand it was...now 18 years later, I am actually about to leave London with a baby on the way and move with my boyfriend to our own house in the countryside and so to close the loop I went to visit Kew Gardens once again, a few weeks ago.

Misty Autumn Outfit

About a year ago it was the 1st year anniversary of my blog and one of my resolutions was to put myself out there a little bit more, and by that I meant to post pictures of my face really. I have to admit it didn't really happen... until now. Lately I went for a little shopping trip with my boyfriend, I got few new jumpers etc. and I thought perhaps it was the occasion to take the camera out of the house, get my personal photographer/Boyfriend and go out to our favourite local park in London and do an 'outfit' shoot, really to show off the few little items I bought and for once to have my face in front of the camera and not behind it. I have no intention to pretend that I know a lot about fashion but still I hope my outfit does not scream 'outrage!'

Autumnal Beauty Haul

The trees start to go golden, the air is crisp, the sunlight is whiter and you know what that means, Autumn is here! and it has to be my favourite season with Winter. The past Summer, I'll be honest with you I got very little make up, mostly just essential things, Somehow I never get excited by Spring/Summer make up collections and I do wear less make up during these two seasons but when the fresher nights arrive then things suddenly change and I go from mostly little interest into a frenzy of make up buying and I'm back enjoying my make up and experimenting with it. Earlier this month I went to Westfield in Stratford, London for a little shopping spree and mostly to look at what Boots had to offer, I didn't go crazy but its only the beginning of Autumn after all.

Look Good Feel Better Event with Lily Pebbles & Anna

Lily Pebbles & Anna from The Anna Edit blog partnered up last Thursday with the charity: Look Good Feel Better and Liberty to organise a free event to where you can meet them and to help raise money for the amazing charity. Having lost my sister a year ago to cancer I had to participate and at the same time meet two of my favourite bloggers/ You Tubers.
After a hard day at work me and my little bump managed to get through the ever busy Oxford Street to reach one of my favourite places in London: Liberty. The event started at 6pm and I pretty much arrived with 20 minutes to spare and as usual I spent that time trying all lipsticks available at all the beauty stands and have half my harm covered in swatches, but you know how it is, you can't go to Liberty and not spend most of your time in the beauty department, as a proper beauty/lifestyle blogger that would be a crime. The event pretty much started bang on 6 pm, a DJ was pumping out some good tunes, Prosecco and fruity cocktail drinks in mason jars started to flow and then Lily & Anna appeared, from it seems, nowhere and to my surprise very kindly invited me to chat with them. The best thing ever was that they actually remembered me from when I first met them randomly a year ago at Taste of London, (you can see my post: here). These two were lovely, they congratulated me about my pregnancy and we chatted for a good 10 minutes about my Chanel lippy I was wearing, London life in general and that they do hope to see me bringing my little one on the next event they'll organise when she'll be born, laughing that she might be the next big You Tuber or Blogger out there... who knows? After that I left them to chat with all the other ladies there to see them as the queue was growing rather rapidly.

Estée Lauder #BCAwareness Beauty Box

It is October, and you know what that means? Its Breast Cancer Awareness month!! And with this Estée Lauder have launched an amazing Limited Edition Beauty Box that would make all beauty bloggers want it like crazy... I mean look at it! what is not to like?
But before I go more into detail about this box I felt I was obliged to do something this month and the reason being its that; my sister who, passed away in December last year, at the young age of 35 battled for 5 years with breast cancer, she beat it at first but unfortunately weeks later a tumour was found in her brain and within days my beautiful sister left us and her 5 year old little girl:  Chloé. So in her memory and to make us all aware that no one is safe, unfortunately, and that if we all work together we'll bit this one day, so why not do something this month regardless how big or small, please do something in memory of those who have left us and those who are fighting for their lives.

The past few weeks #4

It's been a while since I have done one of these posts and I think the last one was in February which you can find here. The time passed so quickly I can't believe we are now in Autumn! Crazy! So what happened since February ...well I am not going to lie but rather a few things, I will start by probably the most life changing one and also I was kind of waiting for the right time to announce it on this little blog of mine.

#Bloggersfestival 2016

Oh do I love Bloggers events and especially at this time of the year when, surprisingly they are becoming more frequent. Always a pleasure to see old faces and meet new faces, discovering new brands or just being re-introduced to brands that are always there and are always a pleasure to see again and try out their new collection. This year #bloggersfestival edition 2016 was no exception. If you haven't read #bloggersfestival from last year find it here. Or what about checking out #Bloggersball also organised by Scarlett_London earlier this year. I expected lots of fun, excitement and cocktails! well I wasn't allowed to drink alcoholic cocktails as being an expecting mother *wink* but fruity non-alcoholic cocktails were on my menu.

A week in Normandy - A picture tale

Normandy in North of France is my birth place, I only lived there until the age of 10. Normandy is for that reason very close to my heart and if my partner and I were to move to France in years to come we'll most likely choose Normandy. For the beautiful countryside, the beaches, the food, all the cottages, cows fields and the way of life in general. I just love Normandy and anything related to it. For my summer holiday we went to spend just under a week in Normandy to spend some time with my family. Spending time with my love one, visiting breathtaking landscapes and eating my weight on amazing food (especially cheeses and famous patisseries from Normandy) was amazing! Here a little picture tale of my too short trip hoping that it will inspire you to go one day.

#bloggersball 2016

Back in mid June (I will explain why I haven't post for many weeks in a future post) with a lot of excitement and anticipation I went to the #bloggersball event, which was the second event I've been to from the very talented Scarlett_London who...wait for it... organised it all by herself so two thumbs up for her!! My last event by her was the #BloggersFestival back in September last year. This year the event was held at the very glamorous and glitzy Dstrkt in West End London hence the blogging event tittle which I have to say suits it perfectly. Of course Scarlett pulled out all the stops as she really wanted to make us feel and look very special at this exclusive venue.

Tonsee Pro Oval Brush | Review

I have seen lately, and I am sure you too, a new trend in the brush alley going around and they are those oval type brushes and as you may know when I start getting more and more curious about something I have to satisfy this curiosity and get one to try it for myself. After a little search I came across Tonsee Pro Oval Brush brand which had great reviews at a very affordable price as I didn't want to break the bank for something that is still very new. So without hesitation I got the foundation Tonsee Pro Oval brush as I though it was the perfect starting point.

It's Official NYX landed in Boots

Yes you heard well! Finally NYX has landed in Boots and its with my arms open wide that I welcome this brand fully to the old British land. I mean the truth is that really I didn't need an other amazing brand to be hooked on but how can I not love them when their lipstick collection goes from matte, to suede, to glossy, to creamy and all the nudes you may wish for to very dark shades! Yes the love is real and yes I am officially hooked.
So after trying to hunt down a branch of Boots that I could get my hands on some NYX products its with delight that I found the stand with the widest number of products was located at the Boots in Picadilly Circus, but please if you do know any better locations I am all ears, and a side note, not all Boots have NYX stands.

London Borough Market

Few weeks ago my family from France decided that it was well over due to pay my boyfriend and I a visit in London, let's say my family are not the most adventurous when it comes to leave their beautiful South of France, but when they do come, they come in style with a car full of yuminess from France, enough to feed an army.
Even though they brought so much food for us from sunny South of France, one thing that I really wanted my parents to experience was the London Borough Market near London Bridge. To show them the British way of food markets because honestly its amazing and well...they are food lovers so I knew they would love it.

What I Heart In May

Wow! I am actually doing a 'What I Heart' new post, after my first ever monthly favourite last month (find it here) I though I would struggle to find new things that I could mentioned in this month's post but to my surprise- not at all- so it's time, yet again, to bundle together everything that I love from the past 4 weeks from beauty, food, place I visited etc.:

Brave By MAC

Brave by MAC is the newbie in my little MAC lippy collection, which by the way is growing rather rapidly, so I am certainly not complaining there. This time around I went out of my comfort zone and I purchased a shade more natural, definitely the lightest shade I have in my MAC collection, it's a shade that I am slowly but surely starting to really enjoy wearing, which is unusual because I am more of a deep colour kind of girl, but with Spring settled and Summer just around the corner I feel its a shade perfect for this time of the year.

My Boyfriend Make Up Knowledge | TAG

I thought it would be quite interesting to find out what my boyfriend knows about make up. I gave him a list of the most used make up, skincare and make up techniques and I asked him to tell me what he thinks it is for. So basically I created a tag that you could also use on your boyfriend or your brother/dad/husband! If you do this tag please let me know as I would love to read your experience and I am sure that it could be rather funny too. To revert back to my boyfriend I was very surprised by his answers, he actually knows as much as I do, here is his test and all the answers are his genuine replies, I have not in any way, helped him or given him any clues. Also to understand why he knows so well please see at the end of this blog post for the answer:

New Perfect Brushes

It's been a while since I talked about brushes on my blog, the last one was rather a while back... over a year ago actually (time flies by like crazy, doesn't it?) & you can read that old post of mine here. So you'll agree that it was time for a brushes post update of brushes that I have been loving lately.

MAC Lipstick Collections

It is time for me to do a round up of all those gorgeous MAC lipsticks I have got since the beginning of the year, when I discovered how great they were (I know where I have been before that?), I already accumulated a lovely little collection that goes from a fairly dark shade to more nude like colours. I honestly can say that I am officially hooked by MAC.

Photography Props #1

I think I am rather obsessed with my photography props I have already accumulated rather a lot
and I am always on the look out for new little things that can be part of my home ware too but also used as props. I am going to start this little series (I think I'll do few other posts in the coming months as I have so many of them that one post isn't enough) with 6 items. If you've been following me for a while, you have probably seen them cheekily appearing in a lot on many of my posts.

What I Heart In April

I've never done a 'monthly favourites' before even though they are everywhere when you hit more or less the last week of every month, and I have to admit I do enjoy reading/watching a lot of them and until now it never really occurred me to do one, until now, so... My 'monthly favourites' post is going to be a bit of everything, not just beauty but also fashion, home ware, places I've visited, restaurants, movies, art galleries...you name it anything that rocked my boat on that particular month. I am not sure if I'll stick with doing one every month but I'll give a good shot! I apologised in advance if I am not regular! What can I say? I am the worst blogger around to be organised and posting on time (any tips on this I am all ears) I always do admire those that are always on schedule but I am getting there ..really am I am just on the slow side. So let's begin shall we!

50 Blog Post Ideas

Have you ever had a cup of brew ready, laptop on, notepad at the ready, sitting comfortably, hands on the keyboard and suddenly you find yourself staring at a blank screen. You wait, think...and...nothing...nothing is happening, hoping for a miracle idea but nothing comes to mind, not an hint of ideas! and then you start 'thinking':  'well perhaps I should do a review on that lippy I really loved recently', but then you realise that your last 5 blog posts are all reviews on lipsticks (because you're a crazy lippy fanatic like me) and perhaps it is not your best blogging idea of the year so you stare at that blank screen that increasingly makes you feel very nervous and guilty, and then your boyfriend starts playing PS4 in the background and suddenly shooting at zombies seems more exciting than that the scary blank screen. And before you know it you are on a Zombie killing quest on level 5 and really we need to unlock that pistol that shoot twice as fast because that would really be cool.

My Spring Current Every Day Makeup

My Spring make-up routine lately has been rather neutral, I ditched, for now, my bold lipstick signature for something a little more classic. Somehow the rest of may make up has been following the trend. So I thought it was time to show you what I have been loving lately starting with:

The Blogger Tea Party at the Popup Patio

When I read The Bloggers Hangout invitation those two words: Tea Party, I was like : Yeap! I am so up for this! Who does not want to go to a Tea Party with many brands ready to let you taste all their delicious new inventions from smoothies to peanut butter, honey juice, chocolate etc. Who wouldn't? it was with great enthusiasm that after a hard day at work I get to try delicious food and to add to my delight I was aloud to bring a + 1 so I took along my best friend Betsy Boo (which by the way has a great blog so please check her blog here).

A Few Of My Favourite Things #5 | Woodland Edition

This is No 5 in my series of 'A Few Of My Favourite Things', (if you haven't seen my last one click here) . This time around I noticed all my little home-ware things have a rather woodland feel, to be honest it was not intentional, perhaps because spring is here and somehow my brain is just is more attracted to rustic looking things...who knows? but I am rather excited to show you all of them. As per usual here my 3 latest favourite things that I totally adore:

Fashion & Beauty Haul

Spring is here ! Yeeesss! and with that shops all around are full of new stuff that well.... I just want to get my hands on but that won't be too good especially for my bank account. Having said that I couldn't stop myself buying a few items that I just adore.

The Bloggers Hangout London Fashion Week Event

I have been a busy and lucky girl yet again over the past few weeks as I went again to another exciting event by the Bloggers Hangout crew. This time around it was to mark the end of London Fashion Week and what an event it was. In total honesty its my favourite so far! It was fun and exciting with many amazing brands to be discovered and new and old bloggers to meet. I had a blast to say the least.
By the way, if you missed reading my last Bloggers Hangout event from last month please find the link here

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream | Review

NYX is a brand that I have always wanted to try. I often watch YouTubers from France talking about it and as I am a curious person I really had to try it  for myself and give this brand a go. It is funny to think that I don't very often hear this brand being mentioned in UK but in France its a different story. I guess NYX is more wildly available in my country of origin. Lately I have been re-falling in love with Selfridges in Oxford Street, I mean what is not to love? The ground floor has a layout of many make-up and skincare stands such as MAC, Charlotte Tilbury, Chanel, Clinique and the list goes one and on so basically its the beauty blogger heaven. So when I came across the rather modest NYX stand I have to admit I got quite excited especially looking at their Soft Matte Lip Cream.

Time for a well deserve break and celebration especially after the dreary last few months and it also means that Spring is here and Summer is not far ahead either *hands up in the air* woopwoop! (I will probably regret it but somehow but I know it will be worth it) and have everything in between that is as just as nice: family time, sofa hangover after tons of foods, DVD watching, countryside walks, large amount tea etc. you name it I'll be there! Among another things that I love about Easter I like looking at all the Easter home ware that is around too. So here a little selection that just screams Easter & Spring but yet can still be kept all year around in your home.

Its All About the Crayon | Beauty Haul

Lately, I've noticed that I've been a bit crazy about crayons. Crayons in all form and colours, for my lips, my eyebrows, eyelids...you name it! I guess it might be a phase but also it might be that they are everywhere and are attracting me like bees to nectar. And yes I found myself in the space of literally few days accumulating a little collection that I am hyper excited to show you. Also I have to admit I've never really been a 'crayon' kind of girl, apart from for my eyebrows, so this new direction is going a little bit outside my comfort zone, I have always been more about lipsticks and mascara than crayons.

Liz Earle Haul & First Impression

I finally got my hands on the 'talk of the town': The famous Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser and I know what you are going to say: "where have I been for the past 6 months?"...I know, I swear I was around and to add even more to my excitement I also got the Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser because.... why not? This little Liz Earle haul is my first, I have never tried it before and you know how it is, when you keep hearing or reading blog posts on a particular product then you just want to try it for yourself. Well, that's what I just did and got myself two Liz Early products to try.

Chocolate Easter Eggs Extra Special

I can't believe Easter is only few days away and I seriously cannot wait! Easter has always been a special event for me, not in the religious way but for me its more like the representation of my family getting together, like many other families, and having a nice and fun time all together and in my opinion it is just the best thing in the world. Also Easter means first of all we are having not one but two bank holidays, I mean... Hello There! Secondly my boyfriend and I are going away from London and get a well rested break in the countryside and thirdly we are going to be able to eat & drink our weight in chocolate, tea, home made cakes & breads you name it! Basically having a food coma for four days but it will be worth it! What about you? Tell me all about your upcoming Easter break plan, I would love to hear them.

Dream Oil Serum by Deborah Mitchell | Review

On the last Bloggers Hangout London Fashion Week Party a few weeks ago, I was introduced to Deborah Mitchell's Heaven collection. I have to be honest this was my fist introduction to this brand which actually has been around for a while and has been praised by many magazines such as the world famous Vogue. Why did I not heard about it before? The mystery is real! But after a long chat with the lovely stand assistant who introduced me to Deborah Mitchell I was getting more and more curious about it especially after hearing that Deborah Mitchell Skincare products are all-natural, organic and Made in UK! You probably know by now that I have a big interest and love on using products that are more eco-friendly and low on carbon footprint. Also its not only it is kind for the environment but to my skin too.

So you want to start a blog | Part 1

I am not in anyway a professional blogger or know better than anyone else, But I would like to share some of my experience and hopefully ideas if you wish to embark on a blogging adventure! I have read not so long ago that the hardest journey of a blogger is in the first 6 months! Get through that and you made it! Basically, you did not quit like a large bunch of new bloggers. I am now entering my 17th month and I haven't slowed down, I am actually blogging even more than before. As I was mentioning I am not a 'professional blogger' so to  speak but I have freaking learned a LOT since I start this blog and if you want a good laugh I suggest you take a look at my first few posts back in 2014, they are rather cringing. Badly written and bad pictures I didn't have a clue, really I did not.
If you're new to this crazy blogging world or thinking to join the fun then there are a few things you should know and a few things that I wish I'd known right at the beginning. This posts theme will be split into few parts as I think there is too much to say in one post so here is part 1, which will be about the importance of choosing a platform, blog name, design and post.

MAC Lipstick Collection

I know what you're going to think after reading the following that I am not a real beauty blogger but I only just got my first MAC lipstick! or shall I say my first MAC product ever, only one month ago! Booooo!!!! I know!!! What can I say? Better late than never but I have to admit that I am now totally hooked, not so much to the liking to my bank manager but on the other hand, my lips are loving them.
