Graphic Art of the Harry Potter Films at the Coningsby Gallery

On the 17th of December (day of my birthday!) my boyfriend and I decided to pay a visit to the Coningsby Gallery, near Goodge Street in London, where they were exhibiting The Graphic Art of the Harry Potter Films for a short period of time. Being a huge Harry Potter fan (click here for my Harry Potter studio tour blog post) I certainly could not miss out on this opportunity. Also I love art in many forms; from contemporary, classic to graphic & being myself an amateur cartoonist (mostly manga) during my spare time then I have to confess that the art of Harry Potter is something that always inspired me and I admired too. I always have been fascinated by all the details that graphic designers meticulously put in all the Harry Potter movies. If you didn't have the chance to see this exhibition as I believe it is now over, here is my little retrospective of all the arts you could have found.

Chilworth Manor SPA weekend

A few weekends back I spent time at the Chilworth Manor hotel based near Southampton. The occasion was to celebrate my boyfriend's mum's 60th birthday. During our stay we got to taste amazing food, relax in an all comfort hotel, enjoyed pampering at the beauty salon and enjoying all the spa facilities such as the pool, jacuzzi, sauna, gym etc.

Cowshed Wild Cow Body Lotion

Let me introduce you to Cowshed Wild Cow my current favourite body lotion. The first time I discovered this brand was when I got a medium size product in My Little Box back when I was subscribed over a year ago, actually it was in the special Fleur de Force box probably my favourite box that I ever received from this brand.

The past few weeks #2

Here is a look back at last few weeks or shall I say months on Instagram. Its been a mix of sea side holiday, blogger events, time at home (a lot), Taste of London, countryside weekend breaks & meeting Anna from Vivianna Does Make Up and Lily Pebbles. Not necessary in that order but almost!
I have been rather lucky the past two months, I got to go to the Bare Mineral Christmas range launch and I was also invited to the Taste of London Winter edition. Basically it's been a good blogger time for me, meeting old and new bloggers, meeting literally two of my favourite bloggers, meeting Howard from the Bake off  at the Free Range Blogger launch and enjoying a lot of yummy foods & tasty cocktails, what more to ask?

Seriously in love with this

Did I just discover my all time favourite foundation? Well so far I have and if you haven't guessed it already; it's the L'Oréal Infallible 24H-Matte foundation. I bough it on my last Boots beauty haul a few weeks ago, which by the way if you haven't seen my Boots haul post then it's this way. I'll be honest with you I pretty much chose that foundation because it was slightly cheaper than the other foundations on the L'Oréal counter but also I did like the chic packaging a lot which is slightly different from the glass bottle with push pump that I am more use to.

Christmas shopping ideas for her

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas and I cannot be more excited about it! I cannot wait to eat gorgeous food, be surrounded with the people I love, play board games, wearing cosy thick socks and pyjamas, go for long walks in the freezing countryside and drinking my weight in tea. Yes! the festive season is approaching fast and it has to be my favourite time of the year, also lets not forget that my birthday is literally a week before Christmas day, so even more exiting for me. But in the meantime without any further a due here is my Christmas selection but this time around it's for the ladies. I went for a gold rose theme as you can see, sorry it has to be done. Also If you missed my Christmas gift guide for men please find it here.

It's starting to look a lot like Christmas....

I don't know about you but when comes to November all I think about it's the joy I am going to have burning all my festive candles. There is nothing more joyful about candles and winter, a bit like Oreo biscuits and milk! They just go perfectly well together.

Christmas shopping ideas for him.

I don't know about you but I always find it rather hard to get gifts for men. In my experience my dad, my boyfriend and my two brothers are the hardest people to buy gifts for but somehow I always managed to get something that I know they will like.

Free From range | meeting Howard from the Bake Off

A week ago I had, once again, the privilege to be invited by ASDA for the launch of their new Free From range and meet Howard Middleton from last years Bake Off. So here is a summary: Spending a couple of hours at the Good housekeeping Institute in West End London with other lifestyle & foodie bloggers, eating cup cakes and other delicious foods while meeting Howard, I could certainly not refuse, you would probably agree with me, right?

L'Oréal beauty haul

For some unknown reason I have lately been re-loving the L'Oréal brand! It's a brand that I know since well...forever. I am from France so this brand has always been there and always been trusted by my mum, my sister and of course by myself. But for some odd reason I stopped buying L'Oréal for quite a few years until recently.
Looking at their range I think it would be actually rather silly to not consider their make-up products, they have always been of quality and their packaging is lovely too.
So for my come back love for L'Oréal here is what I got:

Maple Holistics Vitamin C Serum | review

Lately the use of serum has become a very important part of my beauty regime. Now I can't start or finish my day without it. When Maple Holistics contacted me few weeks ago to try their Vitamin C Anti Ageing Serum, well I definitely could't refuse the offer. Also as you know my big love for natural alternative beauty products, well Maple Holistics believe in this too so it was two thumbs up for me.

Bare Minerals Christmas Party

On Thursday the 8 th of October I attended the Bare Minerals Christmas party to kick start the festive season. The event was held at the colourful and burlesque Aviary bar in London's West End. The evening showcased the brands exciting new Enchantment Christmas collection which is a beautiful festive range by Bare Minerals.
During that beautiful evening I got to meet many bloggers from round the world (a special hello to Alexandra from Glam O'clock), but most importantly I got to discover the Bare Minerals Enchanted range. The whole range was beautifully displayed for us so we could discover and try to our hearts content while sipping on cosmopolitan cocktails (I may have had one or two too many I am not going to lie!) & succulent finger foods.

Color tattoo 24hr by maybelline | review

You know how it is, you read countless amounts of good reviews on one particular product and before you know it you decided to try it for yourself thinking you jut purchased the greatest product ever.
Well, that is pretty much what I did! I read probably a good dozen reviews on the color Tattoo 24hr by Maybelline. They were all great reviews so when I decided to give it a go my expectations were pretty high. I was looking for a Champagne-type of colour so I got the Eternal Gold 05 .

Salcombe

Over the past few years, the annual trip to Salcombe during October, has become an exciting time for me and my boyfriend. Going away from crazy busy London to a quiet and pretty town for few days by the seaside can only be a very welcome break. Salcombe is a seaside town in the South Hams district of Devon, South West England just in case you wondered.

Autumn

Autumn is by far my favourite season with winter. Everything about it is beautiful; the colour changing, the changing lights, the smells, the end and the beginning of something new.
Autumn means a long list of things that I love too such as:
- Outdoor Photography.
- Long countryside walks with my boyfriend and Charlie the dog.
- A coffee with a good book. Right now I am reading The divergent II, What about you?
- DVDs nights with my boyfriend (Harry Potter, Star Wars or Lords Of The Ring of course! Yes I know I      am a Geek!)
- Cosy blanket and woolly scarf.
- Home made hot chocolate with tons of mini marshmallows. (Oh Yeah!!!)
- Watching TV in bed with my boyfriend and Pumpkin my cat.
- The sound and the smell of the rain.
- Burning all my favourite candles (I need to stock up on Yankee Candles winter collection!!).
- Salcombe long weekend trip (Every October of every year it is my boyfriend's family trip).
- Home made pumpkin soup with sunflower seeds.
- Playing board games.
- Dark red and plum lipsticks

What about you? what are your favourite things to do or to eat during Autumn? Tell me all by commenting below I would love to know :)

Lavender & Tea Tree face lotion with AA Skincare

As you may know, I do try to use more natural, organic and paraben free products as I can. I do feel in the long term it will be more beneficial for my skin but also for the environment. Lately, AA Skincarewhich is a brand specialised in aromatherapy & natural skincare, offered me another product from their lovely collection to try and this product is their Lavender &Tea Tree moisturising face lotion (follow this link to see my previous review on the AA Skincare seaweed & aloe refreshing eye gel review) so I was rather excited to try it and report back.

Urban Chic Statement Necklace with happiness boutique

I love big a statement necklace! Especially if they are in a silver colour, edgy and somehow a bit rock chick then I find it very hard to not like them. When Happiness Boutique contacted me few weeks ago, the obvious first thing I did was to check out their website and to my delight I pretty much love everything! So I was rather happy to review one of the products they kindly offered me! That was the easy part, the hard part was to choose a necklace! It probably took me a good hour (not kidding) deciding which one to choose because believe me or not they were all up my street from chic to more urban to very colourful etc. But I went for what I usually go for (Rock chic) and the one I chose is called: Urban Chic Statement necklace.

The Crystal Palace Market

Just over a month ago my boyfriend and I moved near Crystal Palace we didn't know that area before moving (apart Crystal Palace Park and their famous Victorian dinosaurs) so after few weeks of unpacking and mostly get our new place looking less than a camping site and more like a home we decided it was rather a time to discover our local area and by that I mean trying new cafés, markets, quirky shops ...and, of course, surrounding parks and nature. During one of these days we came across Crystal Palace Palace Market we were intrigued by this rather large shop. One part of the building is a fishmonger, then another part a butcher and the larger part is a coffee shop and restaurant area. So we decided to give it a go by having a hot drink and yummy snacks to go with which, by the way, were really yummy.
I really like the concept of mixing food market and an eating area but instead of being outdoor this market is indoor. Also I found out that most of their products sale, in both shops and served in the eating area, are mostly locally sourced something that I always strongly believe was the right things to do even if it cost a bit more.
So overall I really enjoyed spending sometimes with my boyfriend in this quirky caffé We haven't tried any other delicacy from the restaurant but we'll definitely in the coming weeks.

Getting on invitation from her was rather very exciting. It was my first blogger event and I was nervous but yet very excited attending it. Essie nail polish mini haul

I know you are going to think that I live on another planet but I have actually never tried or bought Essie nail polishes before so when Boots was doing an offer on them, I just went for it by buying not 1, not 2 but 3 Essie nail polishes. The ones I chose were: Status Update, Cute as a Button & Muchi Muchi. I decided to choose colours that I always feel confident with wearing apart from one: Muchi Muchi, which is a very pale pink. Usually I don't go for pale colours because I always get disappointed with them. I have tried many other brands before and they often leave brush strokes regardless the amount of layers I put on or it just looks like I use wall paint on my nails. Yes the DIY look not recommended by Vogue magazine (last time I checked) so I usually ignore the very light shades and go for pop or darker colours. But for some reason I wanted to give Essie's lighter shade a try.
Well I tried it and already on my fist layer I realised that the effect wasn't what I usually get, it was just perfect no silly brush strokes just a light, pretty and very delicate shade. I am in love!

Love Lush

I love Lush a lot, I love everything that they stand for and also their products are amazing! they smell divine, they work and they do good for the planet so what is not to like about them?
Lately my boyfriend and I have been more and more thinking about getting everyday products such as; beauty products and cleaning products that do not harm in any way the environment. It is not an easy task but we are strongly thinking to no longer buy any bathroom products that contains paraffin, or any other derivative of petrol, plastic beads or harmful chemicals, and only start using biodegradable products. So obviously Lush is right now replacing, slowly but surely, all our bathroom products from shower gel, to shampoo to soap etc.

Blackberry foraging in London

It's strange to think that you can actually go foraging for wild foods in London but you'll be amazed that it is something totally possible as long as you know where to go. My boyfriend and I are very lucky as about 10 minutes walk away from our apartment there is a large, empty field where blackberries grow wild. Every year around August-September we know that we'll spend time foraging that field for succulent berries. Foraging is amazing and the idea of having free berries sounds great but I think it is important to always remember to take only what you need and leave enough for other people and most importantly for the nature itself such as insects, birds etc. In our mind we only wanted to get enough to make an apple and blackberry crumble and maybe have a little left over for a yummy breakfast. We stick to our plan without being greedy.

Beauty haul

You probably know how it is, you get to pay day and all you think about is getting your hands on all new beauty items. Well this is pretty much what I did! I wont lie I didn't really need new make up but being a beauty blogger and having a love affair with cosmetics it doesn't matter if I am buying another red lipstick, or another blush to add to my collection.
So here I am going to one of my favourite beauty stores few days ago with the bank card ready in one hand and my basket in the other hand. Here are my new shiny purchases that I still haven't had the courage to use because I don't want to ruin them (I know I am sad).

Zeen face and body oil review

I am a very lucky girl lately has I had the great opportunity to be sent and try a very special organic product, the Zeen Face and Body Oil. And to add to the fantastic opportunity this product won the 2014 Beauty Award so I couldn't ask for more!
I'll be honest with you, apart from occasionally using oil for my hair I have never taken the next step and bought an oil specially formulated for your face and Body. But this Zeen product intrigued me a lot and I was very excited to try it and report back to you all.
To start with lets talk about this products constitution and its going to be rather a short one because there is only one single ingredient, and this ingredient is organic Argan. Told you it would be short ! :)
Yes one single ingredient and nothing else I mean who can say that any of their face or body products are constituted of one ingredient? Anyone...? Personally I cant think of any, it's the only one that I have and it is a rather special one.

Countryside weekend #2

I love countryside, as I am getting older the appeal of the trees, birds, fields and all things natural...are just something that I am more and more craving! It is odd for me to think that about 10 years ago I only had love for the city life. Don't take me wrong, back then I used to like escaping for a day in the country but I was always happy to come back to London. Now its kind of the opposite, I want to go more often in the countryside and every time my boyfriend and I have to go back to London it's rather depressing. I don't know what it is? But maybe this is what happen when you re in your 30's and you realise what's important in life and what should be protected and loved.

the past few weeks #1

For the past few weeks I have done quite few things and I have received good news too. We shall start with the great stuff I did such as seeing Taste of London. I always wanted to go and was super excited when I was sent two tickets. It was also the perfect opportunity to spend time with my best friend Betsy, we both love food and giggling so it was a good fun mix. My Taste of London post is here if you haven't read it.

A few weeks ago I went to a motor race for the first time. It was the British Formula E race in Battersea park, I have never been a big fan of motor racing, but after a very convincing boyfriend pushing me to come with him (he's a big fan if you haven't gathered) I actually really enjoyed it. I think it was mostly the frill of seeing so many beautiful and colourful cars driving at great speed over taking each other and also for the noise and the smell! I know it sounds odd but I enjoyed the smell of blistered tyers and the sounds of their engines even if they are rather quiet compared to the non-electric F1. Now I am actually thinking that it would be very cool to go to see a proper F1 race and hopefully by next year this is something we'll do.

Barcelona part 2- cable cart, food and Guell park

I know I am about a month late on posting My Barcelona part 2 (if you haven't seen part1 it's this way) but I honestly kept forget it! But I have a lovely treat for you. This post will be heavy on pictures! Sorry for those who do not like photography like me but there is so many beautiful things to see and share in Barcelona. I am going to show you to the cable car views, Park Guell, and show you some of the gorgeous food I ate.

Lets start with cable car! I have to say I wanted badly to go on the cable car in Barcelona. There are few cable car lines but we went on the most obvious, and the most known, which is the one running from San Sebastia beach at the Barcelona harbour to and from Montjuic hill. We decided to take that route! When I suggested we do it, I forgot that I am actually terrified of hights and tangling from a small crowded cart above the sea was adding to the ever more terrifying moment in my head. But I survived to tell the tale although I spent half of the 10 minute climb with my eyes close (both ways). So I am brave but not that brave! I didn't take as many pictures (because having eyes closed does not help) as I wanted the view was rather beautiful but I managed to get few.

aa Skincare - Seaweed & Aloe refreshing eye gel review

Unless you've been living in a cave the past few days, it is rather hot in UK right now and with the hot weather all we want is fresh salads, large fruity drinks with a mountain of ice and obviously ice cream (that is the best deal we get during summer isn't it?) Basically everything to refresh! But even though we get all those delightful refreshments it doesn't stop the heat wave getting to us. Personally I really dislike hot weather  as it make me feel tired, my legs feel heavy, gives me a puffy face etc. Basically I have no control of my body come the hot weather I feel more like a slug rather than a butterfly. I am more built for mild or cold weathers not really for the heat!

a day with dinosaurs!

No it isn't the title of a new blockbuster movie, mind you that wouldn't surprise me, I'll even be up for seeing it if it exists! No this post is about my visit, a few days ago, on a very sunny afternoon in London to my all time favourite museum the National History Museum in South Kensington and I especially wanted to say hello to all the dinosaurs, yes I'm a child at heart!
When you first enter the museum not only are you are welcomed with an amazing room with an extremely high celling, Gothic stairways and stained glass windows where Mr Camarasaurus the stocky and powerful plant-eating (pheww!) relative of Diplodocus is welcoming you. What a beast it is, probably my favourite dinosaur in the whole museum. I only wish this magnificent beast was still alive and roaming some remote valleys somewhere in this world. Instead he can still live through our imagination.
By the way this is a picture heavy post! you've been warned :)

makeup revolution lipsticks review

If you know me you'll know I have a big love for lipstick! I think out of all the hundreds of beauty items we can choose from, lipstick has always been on top of my list and something I get especially excited about. In my make up collection I probably own 30 lipsticks give or take from L'Oréal, Chanel, Dior, Rimmel etc. I think this love/obsession for lipstick comes from being lucky enough to have full lips, my mum always told me that my lips are my best feature and I should embrace them, so yeah I kind of follow her advice! By the way she used to be a make up artist back in the 80's and 90's so I guess she know's what she is talking about. She is defiantly my make up inspiration Thanks mum !

Taste of London event -4 tickets giveway offered by Asda

Hi my lovelies,
I got something rather exciting to tell you today :
A few days ago I was contacted by Freuds.com the PR agency behind a new exciting event for Asdawhich is a partner of Taste of London, to give away 4 tickets to two of my readers for guess what? The Taste of London event on the 17th-21st of June at Regent's Park.  Yep! you heard it, how exciting is this?! I love food a LOT (please refer to my growing waist line). I love watching all those TV food programs such as Master Chef, The Great British Bake Off which by the way I cannot wait for this years series to start and I love experimenting with foods  (I succeed burned last night diner but it was an experiment *cough cough* really) so this event is just up my street. And perhaps I could learn few bits and bobs along the way too, which I am sure will be appreciated by my always very hungry boyfriend who hopes that one day I will stop mixing odd stuff together thinking it would be nice!

body shop aqua boost sorbet review

For the past few weeks I have been using The Aqua Boost Sorbet by The Body Shop I'll be honest with you I have never bought a face cream by Body Shop. I usually get from their store; body spray, body butter or hand cream so this was a break from the norm.
I am not sure where to start because I am so excited to introduce you to this product. First thing first,
what appealed to me first was the name 'Aqua Boost Sorbet'! Right now my skin is craving for hydration and nothing seems to help rehydrate, even drinking my daily quota of a litre and a half of water. So seeing this mentioned attracted me like a magnet to a fridge :)
Secondly what appealed to me is this little pot is filled with Vitamin E. So to recap: Full of Aqua boosting and Vitamin E! Where do I sign?

I'll be honest lately I am also trying to go back into a healthy diet so introducing avocado into my diet was a natural choice.

Cereal killer café

Early last week, I went for a very early stroll in Camden Town following, I have to admit, an even earlier interview hence I took the opportunity to visit the market. It was lovely to see it when all the tourists are still in their hotel room and you can actually enjoy Camden Town market mostly empty without fighting your way in. If you're a Londoner like me, you probably understand what I mean.
While browsing through lots of vintage, music and exotic food stores getting ready for the day ahead I came across the Cereal Killer Café. This is the first café of its kind based in Shoreditch which I heard about on many occasions but have never tried it. So seeing one in Camden Town was rather a lovely surprise.

Mini beauty haul

Lately I collected a few extra much needed, beauty items. I was craving a facial mask, a new mascara and I needed a new eye make up remover so I hit the London high street. I didn't want to blow the bank so I went for drug store items only.
Like I mentioned above I was supposed to get only 3 items ...but ladies you know how it is, when you are bombarded by tons of lovely colours, shiny new packaging and lovely smelling items 3 items become 4 then 5 and...well... before I knew it I had 8 items in my basket. What can I say I am weak. Do I need help?  But you will agree with me that they all look so lovely and I surely couldn't leave them behind...right?

a morning at India Jane

A few days ago I had the amazing opportunity to be part of India Jane's blogger event in their beautiful Chelsea's store at 121 Kings road. I was very excited to be part of it for two reasons: the first one is because after browsing India Jane's web site for days all I wanted was to see all their beautiful items in their real light and also who doesn't wan to spend an afternoon in Chelsea, in a beautiful store and be allowed to snap away as much as my heart wishes (Instagram and lifestyle bloggers perfect snappy day) .
India Jane is a family-owned home interior business founded in 1992. At our arrival we were introduced to their products by James Neil the Marketing & Brand PR.
I will describe their signature style as elegant colonial, with a Chinese and Indian influence but also some of their pieces are very art Deco with a French Riviera twist. I was literally blown away by their store, everything I looked at was beautiful, well put together and I just wanted to move in and live in the store really but I am not sure if they would have been happy about this haha!

Barcelona part 1- Architecture, Gaudi & seaside.

A few days ago I went to spend 5 days in Barcelona, a city break that my boyfriend and I where so excited about. I am quite lucky as my best friend, who is an English teacher in Barcelona, has a studio flat where my boyfriend, my best friend Betsy (link of her Barcelona post here) and I could stay with him and enjoy the Spanish way of life. To add to our luck his flat was in the heart of Barcelona and literally few minutes walk away from the beach. It didn't take me a long time to fall in love with this city, pretty much as soon as we first put our eyes on the beautiful port and the narrow streets of Barcelona I was enchanted.

Wine tasting evening | The Wine Atlas launch

Last Wednesday my boyfriend and I were invited to a fantastic wine tasting evening celebrating the launch of  Asda's Wine Atlas range. Being French this was rather a dream invitation. I love wine so this couldn't be even more appealing, well... actually yes it get better because not only did we try this new range we also got to try over 150 other wines! I swear we didn't managed to try them all otherwise we would have been in a very bad state the next day! But the star of the night was The Wine Atlas selection.

Little home things

Home is where my heart belongs, where my two men are and by my two men I mean my cat Pumpkin and my boyfriend. It's where we can hide away from the world, enjoy little things, from a good book, to a movie, make a tasty Sunday roast, lighting every candle that my heart wishes for. My boyfriend and I do not yet own our own place, and like most of 30 something Londoners we are renting a one bedroom apartment in London until the day we finally get our hands on our own place. So unfortunately we cannot decorate our rental apartment like we wish to, but until we can I start collecting things that are close to my heart or are just adorable.

The luck Uglies- book review*

Lately I got the great opportunity to read and review (my first book review yeepee!) the Luck Uglies -Dishonour among Thieves by Paul Durham kindly offered by Harper Collins.* I'll be totally honest with you I've never read a Paul Durhan book before but I knew the Luck Uglies trilogy was the type of read that I'm always on the look out for, you see I love fantasy, adventure, and anything magical so I knew this was really up my street! And what a beautiful surprise this book was! It is the second book in a trilogy so I read the first book to be up to date with the story.

Spring nail polish favourite

Spring is here. I noticed this because I don't need to wear my big woolly socks in bed, my cat is losing his winter coat resulting in more frequent use of my vacuum cleaner and I get woken up by cute singing birds! Only then I know it is Spring. With this season it seems natural to dig out those spring like colours nail polishes. There are two colours for me that I always wear the most during spring and those 2 colours are : PINK and ORANGE.
I selected my two favourites Pinks & Orange from 3 big names that we all know and love!! They are available, as you know, in your local Superdrug or Boots.
