🍂 Welcoming the First Day of Autumn – September 22nd 🍂

Monday, 22 September 2025

Today marks the official arrival of autumn, a season that always feels special to me, On September 22nd, the autumn equinox occurs, meaning that day and night are almost perfectly balanced. From here on, you know the nights will slowly grow longer, the air a little crisper, and nature will begin its transformation. And what a transformation itis, probabaly the most outsanding for me anyway. The ray of orange, red and golden colours is just amazing!

There’s something truly magical about this shift in seasons.

Autumn also brings with it a sense of reflection. As the year starts winding down, we naturally look back on the months that have passed and begin to set our intentions for the final stretch of the year. It’s a season of harvest—both literally, as crops are gathered, and symbolically, as we take stock of our own personal growth and achievements.

✨ What to Look Forward to This Autumn ✨

Seasonal treats – warming soups, spiced lattes, pumpkin pies, and comforting casseroles.

Festive celebrations – from Halloween’s playful spookiness to Bonfire Night’s sparkle, and the gentle anticipation of the holiday season ahead. I am lucky enought that my husband s family have a large orchard and its a tradition to burn during bonfire season all the broken branches etc that had fallen during the year. We alays gather all teh debris to the same spot and we always make sure no edghog or other life forms are hiding between the branches before setting them alight. While we watch the bonfire in our cosy outfit we always have a picnic table full of goodies, usually its soup, vegetable chilie, pumpkin pie and certainly hot baked potatoes.

Nature’s beauty – fiery sunsets, misty mornings, and countryside walks beneath golden canopies.
Get your wellies out and go on a little hike either way early in the morning and if its a foggy morning its even better or wait for teh golden hour on a sunny but chilly day. Just perfect make sure to bring athermos ful of hot chocalte and perhaps few yummy treats to make it even more special.

Cozy comforts – blankets, candlelight, crackling fires, and evenings spent curled up with a good book or film.
What else can I add? Its just perfection! Maybe had a cat or two curled up on your lap for a pure bliss. Dogs welcomed too. I have two kitties that I will beg for cuddles coming Autumn.

So, let today be more than just a date on the calendar. Light a candle, take a moment outdoors, or simply enjoy a cup of something warm. Embrace the rhythm of the season and let the beauty of autumn remind you of balance, change, and renewal.
