No One Will Save You - Disney+ movie Review

Saturday 7 October 2023 Banbury, UK

I just finished watching "No One Will Save You" on Disney Plus, and I have to say, I'm thoroughly impressed. This new Brian Duffield movie had me on the edge of my seat from the opening scene to the last one and here's why:

Sypnosis:
No One Will Save You is a sci-fi psychological thriller that follows the story of Brynn a young talented lonely but hopeful, woman living inside her childhood home who struggles as she is alienated from her community.
One night a loud noise woke her up and a strange, unhearthy figure appeared inside her home. What follows is an action-packed face-off between Brynn and 'the Greys' who threaten her future while forcing her to deal with her past.

4 aspects of this movie that were what make it such a must-watch:

1st one is this 1h33 minute movie does not have a single dialogue. Brynn, played by the talented Kaitlyn Dever, took a remarkable weight on her shoulders to carry the whole movie with her excellent to almost perfect performance.

2snd the music
From the beginning to the end the music, choreographed by Joseph Trapanese, is remarkable. from terrifying to chilling to suspense. The music itself takes this movie to an elevated scenario.

3rd the Alien design and alien sounds.
I am a believer and by that I mean I believe in the existence of the Greys and the hundreds of thousands of reported abductions. I read a lot of materials on the matter such as Ross Coulthart's In Plain Sight but also books from Budd Hopkins's best sellers such as Missing Times, The Intruders, and Witnessed but this is a story for another time.
Physical description reported thousands of times by abductees is spot on to the way the Alien have been designed in the movie apart from one thing: their size, in the movie the Grey stands at a large 6 feet tall (I believe they've been designed that way to give the movie a more scary aspect)  in reality they are around 4 to 5 feet tall. Despite this, I can tell that the Director Brian Duffield spends a large amount of time researching what The Grey looks like which makes this movie even more terrifying.

The Aliens' noises are chilling. hard to describe in a few words but hearing their 'calls' had me having goosebumps all over my body. Designing their 'voice' is as chilling as the way they look perhaps even more disturbing.

4th the feminist message (Brynn does not need no-one to save her! No damsel in distress here!)  and the way the movie tackles issues of abuse and trauma in a respectful and meaningful way.

As I do not wish to spoil this movie, if you haven't yet watched the end has a strong meaning to me especially the way Brynn gets to deal with her childhood traumas and the way she gets empathy from the visitors.

As Halloween is approaching I highly recommend "No One Will Save You" to anyone looking for a thrilling and empowering movie experience.

Bryan Duffield delivered a fantastic sci-fi that I personally think was one of the best movie releases of the year.

No One Will Save You is available on HULU, if you leave overseas, but if you are based in Europe find it on Disney+.

Thanks for reading.
